2.)Open Control Panel.

4.)Open Network and Sharing Center
5.)On the left click Change adapter settings
6.)You'll see a few icon with name Local Area Connection , Wireless Network Connection and etc if there are still other.
7.)If you're now connect with cable , right click Local Area connection and click Properties , if you're using wifi ,
find the icon with green color bar and name Wireless Local Area Connection or Wireless Local Area connection and
click Properties.
8.)A small window will pop out , and you'll see a list of stuff with a tick on its left.Double click the Internet
Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4).
9.)Choose Use the following DNS server addresses:

11.)At the Alternate DNS server box : , type 8.8.4.4
12.)Click OK to close the box , and again OK to close the previous box.

13)USB broadband user right click on network connection (under step 7) to disconnect and reconnect.

Missed AirAsia flight!

Arrived early in LCCT and proceed to check in thru AirAsia Kiosk.

(Checking-in counter is not available for certain flights and can only be done via kiosk. If you had to ask why? It reads - No Frills airline. Get it?)

I learned that operating the kiosk requires Masters degree in O2Jam or at least a certificate in tap tap revenge for whatever reason it is, the touch panel couldn't register proper input. #$%

Scanning the booking confirmation letter doesnt work and triggers error message that says face problem , please try again.

Fine, I thought. Lets try another kiosk then. Afterall,there's still an hour plus to go. It didnt work either. For a while there, I'm convinced that the functionality of the Kiosk is somewhat affected by the time of the day, the weather, possibly even position of the planets.. you know..

By now, I'm late. It's freaking ridiculous.

Following instruction from the Kiosk, I lined up on service counter in order to check in. The long wait was darnX3 stressful and the migrant worker in front of me tries to check in but doesnt speak English which contributed to further delays. . It seems that everyone has problem checking-in and when it comes to my turn, the boarding gate has closed.

"But there's 20mins left!" I argued, and the douche gave me that sorry ass look and said "I know, but the gate is closed. You have to purchase a new ticket sir."

$#%$#%$#%#$%#$%#$%#$%#$%#$%#$%#$%#$.. and that is how I missed my flight!!

And.. an awful hullabaloo ensued.. and somewhat managed to calmly lined-up on another counter and was attended by Kak Fazillah. She helped arranged the next available flight for a small penalty fee.

While waiting for my flight home I reminisce this morning's prayer where I've wished for good health, smooth sailing and prosperity. Now that everything is Okay, perhaps I should remind god about the latter?

Figures in this list are merely estimates, so please take it as a guide only. The government of Malaysia has the most correct figures. Is government of Malaysia too ashamed to publish their racist acts by publishing racial statistics?

This list covers a period of about 48 years since independence (1957).

List of racial discriminations ( Malaysia ):

(1) Of the five major banks, only one is multi-racial, the rest are controlled by Malays.

(2) 99% of Petronas directors are Malays.

(3) 3% of Petronas employees are Chinese.

(4) 99% of 2000 Petronas gasoline stations are owned by Malays.

(5) 100% all contractors working under Petronas projects must be of Bumis status.

(6) 0% of non-Malay staff are legally required in Malay companies. But there must be 30% Malay staffs in Chinese companies.

(7) 5% of all new intake for government police, nurses, army, are non-Malays.

(8) 2% is the present Chinese staff in Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), a drop from 40% in 1960.

(9) 2% is the percentage of non-Malay government servants in Putrajaya, but Malays make up 98%.

(10) 7% is the percentage of Chinese government servants in the entire government (in 2004); a drop from 30% in 1960.

(11) 95% of government contracts are given to Malays.

(12) 100% all business licensees are controlled by Malay government, e..g. Taxi permits, Approved permits, etc.

(13) 80% of the Chinese rice millers in Kedah had to be sold to Malay controlled Bernas in 1980s. Otherwise, life is made difficult for Chinese rice millers.

(14) 100 big companies set up, owned and managed by Chinese Malaysians were taken over by government, and later managed by Malays since 1970s, e.g. UTC, UMBC, MISC, Southern Bank etc..

(15) At least 10 Chinese owned bus companies (throughout Malaysia in the past 40 years) had to be sold to MARA or other Malay transport companies due to rejection by Malay authorities to Chinese applications for bus routes and rejection for their applications for new buses..

(16) Two Chinese taxi drivers were barred from driving in Johor Larkin bus station. There are about 30 taxi drivers and three were Chinese in Oct. 2004. Spoiling taxi club properties was the reason given.

(17) 0 non-Malays are allowed to get shop lots in the new Muar bus station ( Nov.. 2004 ).

(18) 8000 billion ringgit is the total amount the government channeled to Malay pockets through ASB, ASN, MARA, privatization of government agencies, Tabung Haji etc, through NEP over a 34 years period.

(19) 48 Chinese primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.

(20) 144 Indian primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.

(21) 2637 Malay primary schools built from 1968 - 2000.

(22) 2.5% is government budget for Chinese primary schools. Indian schools got only 1%, Malay schools got 96.5%.

(23) While a Chinese parent with RM1000 salary (monthly) cannot get school textbook loan, a Malay parent with RM2000 salary is eligible.

(24) All 10 public university vice chancellors are Malays.

(25) 5% of the government universities' lecturers are of non-Malay origins. This percentage has been reduced from about 70% in 1965 to only 5% in 2004.

(26) Only 5% has been given to non-Malays for government scholarships in over 40 years.

(27) 0 Chinese or Indians were sent to Japan and Korea under the ' Look East Policy.'

(28) 128 STPM Chinese top students could not get into the course to which they aspired, i.e. Medicine (in 2004).

(30) 50 cases in which Chinese and Indian Malaysians are beaten up in the National Service program in 2003.

(32) 7% of the Malaysian population is Indian (2004), a drop from 12% in 1957.

(33) 2 million Chinese Malaysians have emigrated in the past 40 years.

(34) 0.5 million Indian Malaysians have emigrated overseas.

(35) 3 millions Indonesians have migrated to Malaysia and become Malaysian citizens with Bumis status.

(36) 600,000 Chinese and Indian Malaysians with red IC were rejected repeatedly when applying for citizenship in the past 40 years. Perhaps 60% of them had already passed away due to old age. This shows racism, based on how easily Indonesians got their citizenships compared with the Chinese and Indians.

(37) 5% - 15% discount for a Malay to buy a house, regardless whether the Malay is rich or poor.

(38) 2% is what new Chinese villages get, compared with 98% - what Malay villages got for rural development budget.

(41) 0 temples/churches were built for each housing estate. But every housing estate got at least one mosque/surau built.

(42) 3000 mosques/surau were built in all housing estates throughout Malaysia since 1970. No temples or churches are required to be built in housing estates.

(43) 1 Catholic church in Shah Alam took 20 years to apply to have a building constructed. But they were told by Malay authority that it must look like a factory and not like a church. As of 2004 the application still have not been approved.

(44) 1 publishing of Bible in Iban language banned (in 2002).

(45) 0 of the government TV stations (RTM1, RTM2, TV3) are directors of non-Malay origin.

(46) 30 government produced TV dramas and films always showed that the bad guys had Chinese faces, and the good guys had Malay faces. You can check it out since 1970s. Recent years, this has become less of a tendency.

(47) 10 times, at least, Malays (especially Umno) had threatened to massacre the Chinese Malaysians using May 13, since 1969.

(48) 20 constituencies won by DAP would not get funds from the government to develop. These Chinese majority constituencies would be the last to be developed.
(49) 100 constituencies (parliaments and states) had been racially re-delineated so Chinese votes were diluted for Chinese candidates. This is one of the main reasons why DAP candidates have consistently lost in elections since the 1970s. (update to 2008 needed)

(50) Only 3 out of 12 human rights items are ratified by the Malaysian government since 1960.

(51) 0 - elimination of all forms of racial discrimination (UN Human Rights) has not been ratified by Malaysian government since 1960s.

(52) 20 reported cases whereby Malay ambulance attendances treated Chinese patients inhumanely, and Malay government hospital staffs purposely delayed attending to Chinese patients in 2003. Unreported cases may be 200.
(54) 20 cases every year whereby Chinese drivers who accidentally knocked down Malays were seriously assaulted or killed by Malays.

(55) 12% is what ASB/ASN got per annum while banks fixed deposits are only about 3.5% per annum.

The old woman sat in the backseat of the magenta convertible as it careened down the highway, clutching tightly to the plastic bag on her lap, afraid it may be kidnapped by the wind.

She was not used to such speed, with trembling hands she pulled the seat belt tighter but was careful not to touch the patent leather seats with her callused fingers, her daughter had warned her not to dirty it, 'Fingerprints show very clearly on white, Ma.'

Her daughter, Bee Choo, was driving and talking on her sleek silver mobile phone using big words the old woman could barely understand.

'Finance', 'Liquidation', 'Assets', 'Investments'... Her voice was crisp and important and had an unfamiliar lilt to it.

Her Bee Choo sounded like one of those foreign girls on television.

She was speaking in an American accent.

The old lady clucked her tongue in disapproval...... 'I absolutely

cannot have this. We have to sell!' Her daughter exclaimed agitatedly as she stepped on the accelerator; her perfectly manicured fingernails gripping onto the steering wheel in irritation.

'I can't DEAL with this anymore!' she yelled as she clicked the

phone shut and hurled it angrily toward the backseat.. The mobile phone hit the old woman on the forehead and nestled soundlessly into her lap. She calmly picked it up and handed it to her daughter..

'Sorry, Ma,' she said, losing the American pretence and switching

to Mandarin. 'I have a big client in America . There have been a lot of problems.'

The old lady nodded knowingly. Her daughter was big and

important.

Bee Choo stared at her mother from the rear view window, wondering what she was thinking. Her mother's wrinkled countenance always carried the same cryptic look. The phone began to ring again, an artificially cheerful digital tune, which broke the awkward silence.

'Hello, Beatrice! Yes, this is Elaine.' Elaine. The old woman

cringed. I didn't name her Elaine. She remembered her daughter telling her, how an English name was very important for 'networking', Chinese ones being easily forgotten.

'Oh no, I can't see you for lunch today. I have to take the

ancient relic to the temple for her weird daily prayer ritual.'

Ancient Relic. The old woman understood perfectly it was

referring to her. Her daughter always assumed that her mother's silence meant she did not comprehend.

'Yes, I know! My car seats will be reeking of joss sticks!' The

old woman pursed her lips tightly, her hands gripping her plastic bag in defence.

The car curved smoothly into the temple courtyard. It looked

almost garish next to the dull sheen of the ageing temple's roof. The old woman got out of the back seat, and made her unhurried way to the main hall.

Her daughter stepped out of the car in her business suit and

stilettos and reapplied her lipstick as she made her brisk way to her mother's side.

'Ma, I'll wait outside.. I have an important phone call to make,'

she said, not bothering to hide her disgust at the pungent fumes of incense.

The old lady hobbled into the temple hall and lit a joss stick, she

knelt down solemnly and whispered her now familiar daily prayer to the Gods.

Thank you God of the Sky, you have given my daughter luck all these years. Everything I prayed for, you have given her. She has everything a young woman in this world could possibly want.

She has a big house with a swimming pool, a maid to help her, as she is too clumsy to sew or cook. Her love life has been blessed; she is engaged to a rich and handsome angmoh man.

Her company is now the top financial firm and even men listen to what she says... She lives the perfect life. You have given her everything except happiness. I ask that the gods be merciful to her even if she has lost her roots while reaping the harvest of success.

What you see is not true, she is a filial daughter to me. She

gives me a room in her big house and provides well for me. She is rude to me only because I affect her happiness.. A young woman does not want to be hindered by her old mother. It is my fault.

The old lady prayed so hard that tears welled up in her eyes.

Finally, with her head bowed in reverence she planted the half-burnt joss stick into an urn of smoldering ashes.

She bowed once more. The old woman had been praying for her

daughter for thirty-two years. When her stomach was round like a melon, she came to the temple and prayed that it was a son.

Then the time was ripe and the baby slipped out of her womb,

bawling and adorable with fat thighs and pink cheeks, but unmistakably, a girl. Her husband had ticked and punched her for producing a useless baby who could not work or carry the family name.

Still, the woman returned to the temple with her new-born girl tied to her waist in a sarong and prayed that her daughter would grow up and have everything she ever wanted.

Her husband left her and she prayed that her daughter would never have to depend on a man. She prayed every day that her daughter would be a great woman, the woman that she, meek and uneducated, could never become. A woman with nengkan; the ability to do anything she set her mind to. A woman who commanded respect in the hearts of men. When she opened her mouth to speak, precious pearls would fall out and men would listen. She will not be like me, the woman prayed as she watched her daughter grow up and drift away from her, speaking a language she scarcely understood.

She watched her daughter transform from a quiet girl to one who

openly defied her, calling her laotu, old fashioned.... She wanted her

mother to be 'modern', a word so new there was no Chinese word for it.

Now her daughter was too clever for her and the old woman wondered

why she had prayed like that. The Gods had been faithful to her persistent prayer, but the wealth and success that poured forth so richly had buried the girl's roots and now she stood faceless with no identity, bound to the soil of her ancestors by only a string of origami banknotes.

Her daughter had forgotten her mother's value. Her wants were so ephemeral, that of a modern woman. Power, wealth, access to the best fashion boutiques and yet her daughter had not found true happiness.

The old woman knew that you could find happiness with much less.

When her daughter left the earth, everything she had would count for nothing. People would look to her legacy and say that she was a great woman but she would be forgotten once the wind blows over, like the ashes of burnt paper convertibles and mansions.

The old woman wished she could go back and erase all her big hopes and prayers for her daughter now that she had looked out of the temple gates.

She saw her daughter speaking on the phone, her brow furrowed with anger and worry. Being at the top is not good, the woman thought, there is only one way to go from there – down.

The old woman carefully unfolded the plastic bag and spread out a packet of beehoon in front of the altar. Her daughter often mocked her for worshipping porcelain Gods. How could she pray to them so faithfully and expect pieces of ceramic to fly to her aid? But her daughter had her own gods too, idols of wealth, success and power that she enslaved to and worshipped every day of her life.

Every day was a quest for the idols, and the idols she worshipped

counted for nothing in eternity. All the wants her daughter had would slowly suck the life out of her and leave her, an empty souless shell at the altar.

The old woman watched the joss stick. The dull heat had left a

teetering grey stem that was on the danger of collapsing.

Modern woman nowadays, the old lady signed in resignation, as she

bowed to the east bone final time to end her ritual. Modern woman nowadays want so much that they lose their souls and wonder whey they cannot find it.

Her joss stick disintegrated into a soft grey powder. She met her

daughter outside the temple, the same look of worry and frustration was

etched on her daughter's face.

An empty expression, as if she was ploughing through the soil of

her wants looking for the one thing that would sown the seeds of happiness.

They climbed into the convertible in silence and her daughter drove along the highway, this time not to fast as she had done before.

‘Ma,’ Bee Choo finally said. "I don't know how to put this.

Mark and I have been talking about it and we plan to move out of the big house. The property market is good now, and we managed to get a buyer willing to pay us seven million for it. We decided we'd prefer a cosier penthouse apartment instead. We found a perfect one in Orchard Road ..

Once we move into our apartment, we plan to get rid of the maid, so we can have more space to ourselves....."

The old woman nodded knowingly. Bee Choo swallowed hard. "We'd get someone to come in to do the housework and we can eat out – but once the maid is gone, there won't be anyone to look after you. You will be awfully lonely at home and, besides that the apartment is rather small. There won't be space. We thought about it for a long time, and we decided the best thing for you is if you moved to a Home. There's one near Hougang – it's a Christian home and a very nice one."

The old woman did not raise an eyebrow. I"ve been there, the

matron is willing to take you in. It's beautiful with gardens and lots of old people to keep you company! Hardly have time for you, you'd be happier there." "You'd be happier there, really." her daughter repeated as if to affirm herself.

This time the old woman had no plastic bag of food offering to

cling tightly to, she bit her lip and fastened her seat belt, as if it would protect her from a daughter who did not want her anymore. She sunk deep into the leather seat, letting her shoulders sag and her fingers trace the white seat.

Ma, her daughter asked, searching the rear view window for her

mother. "Is everything okay?

What had to be done, had to be done. "Yes" she said firmly,

louder than she intended, 'if it will make you happy,' she added more quietly.

‘It's for you, Ma! You will be happier there. You can move

there tomorrow, I already got the maid to pack your things.' Elaine said triumphantly, mentally ticking yet another item off her agenda.

'I knew everything would be fine.' Elaine smiled widely; she felt

liberated. Perhaps getting rid of her mother would make her happier... She had thought about it. It seemed the only hindrance in her pursuit of happiness. She was happy now. She had everything a modern woman ever wanted; money, status, career, love, power and now freedom without her mother and her old-fashioned ways to weigh her down......

Yes she was free. Her phone butted urgently, she picked it up and

read the message, still beaming from ear to ear. "Stock 10% increase."

Yes, things were definitely beginning to look up for her and while

searching for the meaning of life in the luminance of her hand phone screen, the old woman in the backseat became invisible and she did not see her in tears.

There are some good bosses who came in late in the morning,

have 5 hours lunch and lock themselves in their room for the rest of the day.

However,
some tend to get interested in what I'm doing,

encourage my personal development, and

provide stimulating & challenging environment for me to work.

Thankful I am. =)

For months and months nothing seems to happen,

then suddenly the house is there in a matter of weeks.

But those months of 'nothing' happening are when the site is cleared,

the drains put in, the foundations laid.

When the base is properly in place, the rest is easy.

Some argued that having a good boss is a plus.

But I believe in working hard.

I'll take on any task, I'll work for virtually nothing,

and I make a blinding cup of tea..

Ok maybe not the tea, but I make good smoking partner.

I have been working late night these days.
While having dinner with my boss, he asked if I'm stress out.
No, I replied. and we both know it's a lie.
At least I know what I'm doing, and what needs to be done.

The sad part about my job as a media planner,
has to be - me, being reduced to churning out schedules day in, day out.

I have not actually sat down and work on strat. planning.
I believe that I can contribute more,

as the organization is shortchanging themselves on resources.

Question - Can we afford this team?
Investment of RM1.7billion per year is needed to maintain this rainbow coloured team. (They couldn't differentiate how many colors does a rainbow consists.)

Racing fuel alone cost about US$ 1,300 per lap.

Dear Sheila,

A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it's clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the injectors.

Having confidence is like having an erection of the personality. Some can sustain their confidence almost indefinitely, others have it for a few seconds before they revert to feeling small and embarrassed.

They said that confidence is self-perpetuating. Create some and soon you'll have more. Don't worry if you don't know how, I've learned that you can gain confidence by drinking.

Alcohol help you lose the 3 big confidence inhibitors:

1. your self-doubt

2. your self-awareness

3. your pathetically underpowered personality.

However, there is a fine line of doing it. Overdo it and you'll end up losing it.

Losing confidence is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. One moment you have it and can charm the birds out of the trees. The next you've lost it and you're being shat on by every bird in the tree.

Message to a neighbour

Living in city means we had to make do with strangers living around us. We called them - neighbours. (sometimes housemates if you rent a room) You learn to hate them when you had to hear what they do, from their arguments to their television to them making out, etc..

At times, you need to put on earplugs when you go to bed, but you can't be doing that on a weekday because, how are you going to wake up the next day?

Unusual (and fun!) Date Ideas

1.Go on a search for as many good climbing trees as possible, climb as high as you both can in all of them, compile photo evidence

2.Go to a major chain bookstore, and leave notes to future readers in copies of your favorite books

3.Have her dress up as a ghost and you dress up as Pacman. Walk around downtown holding hands, and whenever anyone sees you two, pretend to be embarrassed, and run off screaming “wocka wocka wocka.”

4.Create photo evidence suggesting that you went on an adventure that didn’t really happen

5.Dress up as superheros and stop at least one petty crime “ie. jaywalking, littering….”

6.Build forts out of furniture and blankets, and wage war with paper airplanes.

7.Try and visit as many people as you can in one night, and turn as many things inside their apartment upside down as you can, without them noticing.

8.Go to the airport, get the cheapest, soonest departing flight to anywhere when you show up, and stay there for a weekend.

9.Write a piece of fiction together. Outside at a cafe. Ask strangers when you get stuck.

10.Dress to the nines, pretend to be married, and test drive very expensive vehicles at an auto dealership.

11.Do the lamest tourist thing in your area that you have both secretly wanted to do forever. Have an unabashed good time!

12.In the middle of the night, drive to the beach, so you arrive just as the sun is rising. Have a breakfast picnic, then fall asleep together. Bring a sun umbrella.

13.Drive somewhere unknown and have dinner in a city you’ve never been to. With fake names.

14.Go to a minor league baseball game under the stars. Tell each other stories about how bad you are at athletics. Randomly cheer for both teams. Eat lots of Cracker Jacks.

Just when I thought that I hardly have a social life, my mate called me up for a night out the other day but then I was too tired. My apologies.

I tend to wake up early in the morning and bid my bed farewell to prepare for work. After the long hours at work, the first thing you think of after dinner probably is your bed too right? ... Ok, maybe not.

And then it hit me that it's not just me that has got problem with my bed. I remembered what Guy Browning said in his book, that children have to go to bed, and their parents have to put them to bed, then, there is old people who wants to go to bed, and how young lovers don't want to get out of bed..

Thus by definition, it should be safe saying that people with a social life are those who have a dysfunctional relationship with their bed?

What the heck.. Things have been great this week.. Quite happening I must say.. from Oriental Daily dinner to Media Prima screening to Kancil Awards to Tanjung Sepat day-trip and then All-American Rejects tonight!

I've got some tickets to spare.

I'm working on youth project currently and one of the interesting thing to share is the definition of youth.

According to Wikipedia, Youth is the period between childhood and adulthood, described as the period of physical and psychological development from the onset of puberty to maturity and early adulthood.

Definitions of the specific age range that constitutes youth varies. An individual's actual maturity may not correspond to their chronological age, as immature individuals exists at all ages. I like the last part - Immature individuals exist at all ages.

Understanding the youth these days is so tricky. You have to really put yourself in their shoes. In order to do that, you need to think like one. Better still, act like one.

So before you set out and tell the youngsters that you understand them, ask yourself this:

Do you call your home - my crib?

Do you use the word Chill or Chillin?

Do you have bling-bling?

I dump all the chilled beers in the sink, pour in some ice. Light my ciggy and enjoy a good smoke while waiting for it to get real chilled before enjoying my 'refreshed' beers. It goes down real smooth if it's real cold.

The question some ask,

does beer taste better near frozen?

I see promotions for 0 degree beers! How about that!

Right, unless you like the taste of water, you don't want your beer to be served in frozen glasses! or what ever 0 degree beers.. Norly, the beer won't taste exactly like water but being ultra cold really does dull the flavor and aroma of the beers.

So at what temperature should we serve our beer? The rough guide suggests that for German beer or American lager, we should serve it fridge cold. If it's bigger craft beer, we serve it at fridge temp. And if it's a huge barleywine, imperial stout or belgian quad, serve it at cellar temp(50-60°F).

Seriously, I dont think you'd bothered much after the fourth, or is it fifth pint? oh nevermind.. after all, Sobriety diminishes, discriminates, and says no, while drunkenness expands, unites and says yes!

What does this mean? That we trip over tongue twisters because they trigger a cognitive failure, not a physical failure.

While checking out Facebook group, it came to my discovery that not everyone logs into the group often enough even when they're a member of a group.

Ask yourself when is the last time you log into your Facebook group? I for one, would normally joined, look around and try to take part in discussions then forgets about it after a week or two. My own gaming group generally died due to lack of updates.

Oh well.. not exactly, sometimes I do get some jackass who abuse the wall post to seek attention. Like the average tard, these people doesn't have an obvious motive in the group. I'd always assume that these people were not given enough attention when they were young. Probably so few it hardly manage to confirm their worth as human.

I think that if we want to make people engage actively in a group, we'll need something different, maybe some genre that will encourage the members to automatically generates topics. Something that will engage them, captivate them, make them come back for more..

Maybe.. Sexology is a good idea..

I was walking in the 1Utama shopping mall and then I realized that I am going in the wrong direction. What I did, I turned over and walked back to where I came from. I realized that some people behind me saw what happened and I absofreakinglutely can tell, that they were amused.

Alright, I'm freaking sure that this happened to you too, that you walked the wrong direction and when you realized that, some of you instead of just turning over and walk back from where you came from, you stood there for a while pretending to look for directions, or check your watch, or phone and some of you even walked the whole round just so that it seem like you know where you were going.

Yeah, I can see that some of you are laughing now, losers!

How things work

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all of the other monkeys with cold water.

After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all of the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs, he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.

Had dinner with my uncle yesterday and he asked about my dad. I have no idea what to tell him about my dad. It's really a shame that I don't know my dad all that well. We don't talk as daddy's a busy man and I'm used to growing up in my own room.

Uncle Chai's question does make me wonder what life was, when I was young.

When I was real young, apart from schooling, all the spare times were devoted into building my Lego empire or my Tamiya RC models or computer games. I was a proud gamer back then. That, probably has got something to do with the exclusivity of computer back in 1987. (Yes, if you had to ask, the game comes in diskets. The big ones, not floppy disk.)

Then, I'll get the occasional Harry potter style howler on my desk reminding me to not waste my precious time in my room. I know I'm in my own little world then, but that's okay. They know me there. I grew up normal after all. There's also reminder that it's time to tidy up my room - as dad put it "it smells like toilet!" Man, you don't know how hard it is for the message to sink in especially when the washroom smells nice.

Apart from that, getting lectured for my poor attitude and behavior is just typical. I always got reminded to behave. Yes, I'm a spoiled brat, I'm aware of that thank you. But then, this young boy is in need of hero to look up upon. Then, It's either Disney's Goofy or Marvel's Megatron and that, is like asking Tom Sawyer to choose between a lollipop and a BB gun.

Frankly speaking, I can't be bothered about how many people who's upset with me. If I don't like something or someone, I don't see a point of pretending to like it.

I'm being honest to myself. I say what I mean. People either love to hate me, or hate to love me. I don't live my life according to other people's standard. You do that and your life's no longer yours.

(P/S. I'll think about trying to be nice part. Previous experience taught me that friendliness is not an asset. Bitchiness is. And there is no need to argue about this. Take a look at Barbie. That bitch has got everything.)

Read a book from Stephen Bayley and here's something interesting to share.

Do you know that someone who's being asked to lend a million pounds is faced really with only one simple question to answer: will I get my money back? That of course is not a logical question, because its asking to know the future. There is no logic which can describe what is going to happen a few years from now.

A banker who spends his whole life lending money is endlessly 'deciding' what will happen in the future. But of course, he is not deciding, he is just guessing. He will never call it a guess - thats too scarily truthful.

He'll call it an 'informed estimate', an intelligent estimation', a 'considered opinion' based on your supplied info(i.e. payslips). But believe me, its a guess. No one can foretell the future.

Which leads me to this interesting quote from John Paul Getty - "owe the bank $100 and that's your problem, owe them $100mil, and that's the bank's problem. "

The movie is predictable enough but no less enjoyable, there's a lot of chemistry between the leads, thumbs up to Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler.

I was in Ikea checking out some furniture and my buddy brought a table and an office chair. While settling for the delivery bill, he was asked whether he want those furniture assembled for a small fee.

To my surprise he approved seeing that he doesn't have a screwdriver at home. I stood there flabbergasted. Isn't Ikea famous for their supposedly value-for-money products that require allegedly simple DIY steps to piece the furniture together?

What's the point of buying DIY goods and then get someone else to assemble it for you? It's no different than a daddy buying Lego for the son and then gets the uncle to build the spaceship so that the son can play with it.

Commuting hitch

After the superb dinner with the guys, we decided to take a spin in KL before we head home for more chilled beers and end up getting stuck in a traffic jam @ 10.50pm! On a Friday night! Yep, that’s our typical KL.

Commuting in Kuala Lumpur is a unique experience. If you happened to own a car, you know how lucky you are as going places became as easy as eating fries. If not, you’ll be depending on public transport, which is somewhat dysfunctional.

Buses and Train while not always on time will definitely get you to your destination. (Well sort-of, it’s kinda like from point-A to point-B and you’ll then have to walk for another 20mins to your destination.) A recent hike of 30% in taxi fare to stimulate the quality of service doesn’t mean much for they still refuse to take you to your destination even though it’s 3 blocks away.

Those that drives are then hit with some silly nuisance such as stupid parking fee and hefty highway toll. One day they decided to build an arc and every other day after, you’ve got to pay to go through. But fear not, our government has got a 20% toll rebate scheme for those who registered 80 toll transactions and above per month. Let’s do the math: -

Imagine you only work weekdays, through and forth you’ll have 40 transactions per month (More on a 5 week month). Add some shopping trips and active socializing and it might hit 80 to qualify. But then again, your car fuel and miscellaneous expenses would have cost you dearly.

Then there’s this incident where this poor guy got denied entry into tube station for bringing along his foldable bicycles. With all this talks of CO2 emission, why is there no policies or proper guidelines to encourage the use of a sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation?

What is our transport minister’s view in this matter? (With his political party’s emergency general election by the corner, CO2 can wait, so should the people. I know.. he’s a troubled man.)

That’s what Rufi suggested when you got angry. Try counting from 1 till a certain number before you speak again. The numbers greatly varies, depending on how angry you are at that time.

Right, I’m trying to purchase my flight ticket online from MAS as I need to be in KL for my mate’s birthday. I totally forgot about his birthday until his GF called to confirm if I’m joining. So I went ahead and choose the destination, select the date, spend 5 minutes keying in all the required details and finally submit!

(Please wait while we process bla.. bla.. bla.. )

And then it has to happen. It shows a warning about the payment that says I’ve rejoined the MAS booking engine out of sequence when they were expecting payment to be completed. They suggest that I finish entering details on the payment pages (hello? I’m freaking sure I’ve done that before I proceed to payment), or call their hotline quoting a given reference number.

Option 1 is not viable because I could not roll back to the previous page. Option 2 is not preferable. Calling hotline during night time plus when I’m angry? Can you imagine the moment I got connected only to be greeted by the answering machine asking me to press 1 for English language, press 2 for Bahasa..

How about option 3, you upgrade and maintain your bloody booking engine?

I’ve passed the booking reference number to mom and hopefully it’ll be settled tomorrow. (Thanks mom.) So much trouble for Malaysian Hospitality eh?

Perhaps I should keep counting.

It happened yesterday when my friend's bf got hit by his fellow colleague in a heated argument during work and then after he complained about that incident to the manager, he got hit by the colleague again! The manager ignored the incident because he has got related interest with the colleague. He even asked the poor guy to forget about the incident and the chap, with his bleeding lips continued to work double shifts.

When my friend found out about it, she brought him to lodge a police report in Kepong. While in Kepong police station, the policemen asked them to go to Damansara police station to make a statement as the incident happened in that vicinity. Off they went to Damansara police station and the policeman in Damansara asked them to go home and wait as he'll need confirmation from Kepong police station before taking statement.

So now she's at home waiting for the call, which is yet to come. This upsets her as since she was already there in person, why does she need to go home and wait for confirmation from Kepong police station? Why cant the policeman take the statement straight away?

However, like most Malaysian, she does not understand that police and military forces all over the world exist mainly to maintain the status quo on behalf of the power-wielders, viz., the plutocracy (those who rule through the power of money and the resources that they control).

Yes, in Malaysia, the police force and military were established (with our tax money) not to protect us but to protect the power structure from being destabilized by those "rebelling" against the system. For instance the reckless use of FRU during every peaceful protest in KL, I’m not going to name it but then it’s weird the FRU were nowhere to be seen during the cow head protest. *here*

There was this guy that couldn't get laid because he had a 25-inch dick! So one day he decided to get it shortened and goes to the doctor.

After a few minutes of intense examination the doctor delivers the bad news. The doctor could not possibly reduce it and suggested that he go to a witch in the woods nearby.

There'll be a frog there that can talk. Every time you ask the frog to marry you and he says no, your dick will decrease by five inches."

Yeah, so yesterday was National day and I did not celebrate it. There's no big deal about that as what I recalled about National day when I was young, was me waving little flags and writing essay about how much I love my country.

Malaysia - a nation founded upon the principles of liberty and justice. She is ever seeking the welfare and happiness of its people. She will be inspired by the ideals of justice and liberty and she is to be a beacon of light in a disturbed and a distracted world.

That was the Tunku's aspirations. And the aspirations of all Malaysians on 31st of August 1957.

Have we all, as a nation, achieved those? No we have not, but rest assured that we are trying. We are working hard to make sure that our country is a better place for our children.

I found this epic Game Boy Color console while cleaning up my room yesterday.

Powered by a 8 MHz Z80 processor, this thing is twice as fast as my cousin's original Game Boy. It's also packed with 32 kilobytes of system RAM, and 16 kilobytes of video RAM. *laughs*

This is the coolest thing I had back in 1999. It's like owning an iPhone but considering that this thing is 10 years old, and it has got color?! darn it's the real revolution back then!

Recalled showing it to my friend and he said "what? colored screen?" Pwned.
